Responsible Social Gaming

TBG is fully committed to promoting responsible social gaming as a policy of customer care and social responsibility. We aim to provide the most fun, social, and rewarding experience possible while taking appropriate measures to ensure this is done responsibly and in a way that fosters customer protection.

We believe it is our responsibility to our customers to ensure that you enjoy your experience using our products, while remaining fully aware of the potential risks that can be associated with social gaming if you don't take the necessary safeguards to manage your play.

To ensure that you continue to enjoy safe and manageable play, we fully support responsible social gaming and have put measures in place to assist players who wish to manage their play, and we reserve the right to activate these measures unilaterally if, in our sole discretion, we consider them necessary.

1. Keeping track of your play

Playing social games should be treated as a fun pastime. Here are some tips to help you manage your social gaming:

Keep it fun

Playing social games is a form of entertainment, but they should be played in moderation and not to escape reality or for the purpose of generating income through winning prizes.

Play social games in the right frame of mind and avoid playing if you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Don't spend above your means

Set a budget for your entertainment and stick to it. Only purchase TBG Coins if you can afford to do so. You can always claim TBG Coins to play for free and play with TBG Credits via TBG's alternative methods of entry (see our Sweepstakes Rules).

Strictly manage your budget and don't chase losses.

Keep track of your playing time

We're happy you've chosen TBG and we hope that you can continue to enjoy playing, but don't let social gaming take up too much of your time. Just like going to a live sporting event or movie theater, TBG exists to provide entertainment.

Make use of our gaming management tools

If you need some time out to cool-off or exclude yourself from the TBG platform for a longer period of time, you can follow the steps in section 2.

If you think you may be gaming too often, review the self-assessment questions in section 3 below.

2. Staying in control

We encourage our customers to socially game responsibly, so we offer a variety of responsible social gaming features.

Session Reminders

TBG can assist you to play responsibly by operating a Session Reminder each hour.

The Session Reminder:

  • suspends play and indicates how long you have been playing.
  • displays your TBG Coin and TBG Credits played since logging in; and
  • allows you to end the session or continue playing.

Set Daily, Weekly, and/or Monthly Limits

The daily, weekly, and/or monthly limits function provides you with options to pre-set:

  • how many TBG Coins you can purchase each day, each week, and/or each month.
  • the amount of TBG Coins and/or TBG Credits you play each day, each week, and/or each month.
  • how much time you spend playing each day, each week, and/or each month; and/or
  • the maximum amount of TBG Coins and/or TBG Credits you will allow yourself to play each day, each week, and/or each month.

3. Self-assessment

If you think your or someone else's social gaming is becoming problematic, then it may be a good idea to consider the self-assessment questions below.

  • Do you often re-live social gaming experiences or think about future ones?
  • Do you hide or lie about your social gaming?
  • Do you get very angry when someone or something interrupts a social game?
  • Have you ever taken a break from social gaming and binged uncontrollably upon your return?
  • When upset, do you soothe yourself with social games or plans to play social games?
  • Do you find yourself social gaming in the early morning?
  • Do you find ways to play social games when away from home?
  • Do you set limits with social gaming and then break them, playing hours longer than intended?
  • Do you lose hours of sleep to social gaming?
  • Have you called in sick or late to work or skipped classes to play social games?
  • Have you sworn off a social game, deleted your account, and later returned to it?
  • Do you feel guilt and shame around your social gaming?
  • Does social gaming contribute to arguments in your relationships?
  • Has social gaming taken the place of any hobbies or sports you used to enjoy?
  • Do you forget appointments, responsibilities or deadlines in work or school when social gaming?
  • Do you become irritated and defensive when people suggest you might be social gaming too much?
  • Have your hours spent social gaming increased over time?
  • Do you blow off social events to play social games?
  • Have you lost contact with friends and family since social gaming?
  • Do you have intense feelings (highs, lows, anger, fear) while social gaming?

The more questions that you answer "yes" to, the more likely it is that you are having difficulties with your social gaming. To speak with someone who can give you advice and support, please contact the Support Organization referred to in section 4.

4. Support organization
